Barrett Summer Scholars (BSS) is a summer residential program that gives motivated high school students the opportunity to experience college life while strengthening academic and leadership skills. Participants explore challenging topics, build college-ready habits, and learn what it’s like to study on a university campus. Designed for students across multiple grade levels, BSS helps participants feel more prepared, confident, and excited about their transition to higher education.
INSPIRE is a residential summer program that helps high school students get ready for college while exploring learning through culture, community, and connection. Students take part in engaging activities, hands-on projects, and college-going experiences that highlight culturally meaningful perspectives. Along the way, they will connect with Arizona State University resources and meet students, staff, and faculty to help them feel more comfortable, supported, and prepared for life after high school.
Program Highlights

Bring characters to life by creating your own animation shorts! In the style of stop motion major feature films such as “Coraline” or “Kubo and the Two Strings”, students are tasked with taking pictures frame by frame and putting it together to form movement. Merging both artistic talents and hands on engineering, students will expressively tell their own stories which will culminate in a final showcase.
