School of Art Summer Camp- Work with wood as you create tools, toys, and games! In this five-day introductory woodworking camp, you will learn the fundamentals of carving and joinery within the School of Art’s dedicated Woods Studio. Each participant will learn to use the bandsaw and various hand tools to design and create sculptural objects.
School of Art Summer Camp- Portrait painting has deep roots in history and still has a strong presence in the art world today. In this camp, you’ll learn how to work with oil paints, mix skin tones, tackle proportion, and create the illusion of light and form. In addition, you’ll practice mastering 3-D volume, structure, and anatomy — all leading up to painting from real life!
School of Art Summer Camp- Launch yourself into new universes while exploring favorite animations and graphic illustrations! Invent your own stories, characters, and worlds as you create and illustrate your own comics, anime, or manga. Collaborate with peers or develop unique drawings as you learn to storyboard, practice figures and poses, explore color palettes, and more.

The School of Arts, Media and Engineering hosts a summer program for students in grades 6th-12th, featuring 5-day, project-focused workshops. Students work directly with faculty and graduate students who are experts in their field. Open to students of all levels of experience, we offer a variety of interdisciplinary classes infused with ideas and practices from the arts, music, digital media, computer science, technology, and engineering. Future makers, artists, designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs will learn skills valuable for the technology-infused, fast-paced 21st century.

Immerse yourself in a world of gears, gadgets, and gizmos as you explore the exciting world of steampunk. In this immersive week-long camp, participants in grades 8 - 12 will be introduced to the engineering design process while they learn and use basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts to construct their own steampunk-themed automata.
Camp Broadway® Mainstage is designed for theater-loving kids, ages 10-17, to develop their confidence, character and presentation skills through ensemble performance. The five-day camp is open to all children, regardless of previous performing experience. The Camp Broadway team is comprised of distinguished actors, writers and designers directly from New York. Campers learn acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, singing and dancing, while building self-esteem, teamwork skills, and creative potential. Campers will also watch the Broadway show HAIRSPRAY.
The SMCC STEAM Summer Camp will introduce students to engineering through art, music and storytelling! This summer experience is brought to the South Phoenix community by the ASU Polytechnic School and the SMCC Storytelling Institute. Camp description: Participants will be introduced to the engineering design process while learning basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts like simple machines, electric circuits, programming, computational thinking, music, and storytelling.
