Figures in Motion - School of Art Summer Camps 2024

A series of charcoal drawings of a person jumping onto a platform

Ever wondered how the magic of animated videos was born? This camp will demystify the traditional processes of hand-drawn sequential animation, allowing students to bring action to life from sketch to screen. While learning about the historical roots of hand-drawn sequential animation, students will practice drawing items and models in motion, refine the intricate logistics of image sequencing, and transform a series of drawings into a mesmerizing animated video.

Our summer camps welcome students ages 13-18 with a wide range of experience, from beginners to advanced artists. The program is designed to provide students with an art immersion experience: the opportunity to engage in studio practice, to collaborate with peers, and to receive oneon-one feedback from specialized faculty members about their artistic craft. Requisite materials are provided to each student. More information and registration details can be found at our website.
