Explore the world of oil painting and still life with a pop culture twist! This painting-centered camp will explore the medium of oil painting through pop culture still lifes, with a fun opportunity towards the end of camp.

Add some flair to your backpack or t-shirts, print your own logos on a tote bag, or create your own prints to hang up at home! In this screenprinting camp, you'll practice the printing and layering processes with transparencies and stencils as you incorporate techniques of drawing, tracing, detailed cutting, composition, and found object exposure.

Ever wondered how the magic of animated videos was born? This drawing-centered camp will demystify the traditional processes of hand-drawn sequential animation, allowing students to bring an action to life from sketch to screen.

Portrait painting has deep roots in history and still has a strong presence in the art world today. In this camp, you’ll learn how to work with oil paints, mix skin tones, tackle proportion, and create the illusion of light and form. In addition, you’ll practice mastering 3-D volume, structure, and anatomy — all leading up to painting from real life!

 

Work with wood as you create tools, toys, and games! In this five-day introductory woodworking camp, you will learn the fundamentals of carving and joinery within the School of Art’s dedicated Woods Studio. Each participant will learn to use the bandsaw and various hand tools to design and create sculptural objects.

Launch yourself into new universes while exploring favorite animations and graphic illustrations! Invent your own stories, characters, and worlds as you create and illustrate your own comics, anime, or manga. Collaborate with peers or develop unique drawings as you learn to storyboard, practice figures and poses, explore color palettes, and more.

 

 

Point, shoot, develop and print through the traditional methods of photography! In this camp, you’ll create imaginative storytelling through photography while learning and using an analog film camera and printing in a traditional darkroom. You’ll learn the traditional basics of photography and walk away with your printed images and film ready to use again!
