Compensation

Salary & benefits

Our starting salary is $42,000. Arizona State University offers a comprehensive benefits package at very competitive rates to enhance the total compensation of its staff. This package includes low-cost health and life benefits, a wellness program for preventative health education and screenings, a disability and leaves program for income protection, employee assistance for free and confidential behavioral health services, tuition remission for staff members, their spouses, and dependents, disability resources and a retirement program designed to promote long-term savings and provide income upon retirement.

Furnished Apartment (utilities included)

All Community Directors are provided a full apartment within the residence hall. Floor plans vary, but all accommodations include full bedroom furniture sets, living room furniture, kitchen appliances (cookware and dishes are not furnished), and all utilities are included: electric, water, internet, cable, etc.

Partner and Pet Policy

Arizona State University allows for all Community Directors to invite their partner and pets to live with them in their furnished apartment. A dog or cat under 40 pounds is permitted; You are required to report the presence of a partner and/or pet in the unit. Additional information and forms will be provided upon request.

Tuition Remission

Staff members at ASU, as well as their spouse and dependents, are eligible for very significant reductions in tuition costs. More information about the tuition reduction program can be found here.

Meal plan

Each Community Director receives a partial meal plan that includes meal swipes and M&G Dollars per week or semester. Maroon & Gold Dollars (M&G) are declining balance dollars that work like a debit card and can be used at most Sun Devil Dining locations including Starbucks, Chick Fil A, Pei Wei, Qdoba, and more! Many of our Community Directors enjoy catching up over lunch at our many dining locations.

Technology credits & discounts

Community Directors at ASU use personal cell phones instead of a duty phone. In exchange for using your personal cell, each CD receives a monthly technology credit up to $60 to help subsidize cell phone costs. Additionally, all ASU employees are eligible for cell phone plan discounts through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
