A growing number of organizations are creating scholarship funds and grants for LGBTQIA+ students or families. GO Financial Aid lists some of these organizations.
Phoenix Pride scholarships
Phoenix Pride, with the support of local contributors and community members, has awarded over $80,000 in scholarships to the LGBTQIA+ community since the inception of its scholarship program in 2008.
Point Foundation scholarships
Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students of merit. Point Foundation promotes change through scholarship funding, mentorship, leadership development, and community service training.
Mark Bowland Leadership Scholarship
The Mark Bowland Leadership Fund has been established to honor the life of Mark Bowland, a graduate of the Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Class of 1996, who exhibited leadership in the LGBT community. This award recognizes the contributions of young adult leaders who identify as LGBT and the indelible impact that their efforts have on the present and future.
