Filing a Report of Misconduct
General Information
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities staff is responsible for reviewing and handling student incident reports. The staff reviews the conduct of both individual students and student organizations in relation to standards set forth by the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR).
Outreach and education are provided to students, faculty, and staff in areas such as:
- Student rights and responsibilities
- Campus and community standards
- University policies
- Campus safety
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities staff works closely with many other department and program staff on campus to ensure that all students can live, work, and learn in a mutually satisfying and secure environment.
Incident Reports
Incident reports are accepted from students, faculty, staff, or other persons who believe that a student or a student organization may have violated the ABOR Student Code of Conduct.
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities reserves the right to determine that police reports, applicable newspaper articles, or other forms of documentation that can constitute a formal complaint for purposes of initiating review under the ABOR Student Code of Conduct. Additionally, any relevant information pertaining to any ASU student, found in the course of a review, may also be deemed to constitute a complaint and pursued accordingly under the ABOR Student Code of Conduct.
