Governing Councils
Our fraternities and sororities are organized into governing councils that oversee our activities and promote specific values. The councils are Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Panhellenic Association.
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
The Interfraternity Council is a self-governing body representing the member fraternities at Arizona State University. The IFC strives to promote excellence in all aspects of fraternity life. The IFC works to better the Arizona State University fraternity community and represent the member fraternities to the greater campus community. IFC assists with fraternity recruitment each semester and serves as a clearing house for all issues related to the fraternity community. The Interfraternity Council at Arizona State University is a North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) chartered IFC.

- IFC Walk Around - a tabling fair where potential new members have the opportunity to visit with each chapter to learn more about the groups and to collect information on the recruitment events for each chapter.
- Sunday, Aug. 30 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., SDFC Maroon Gym
- Men's Health Initiative - each fall, IFC hosts an educational and interactive program to educate and raise awareness around the topic of Men's Health.
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the governing body for culturally based fraternities and sororities at Arizona State University. The MGC exists to develop and maintain fraternity life and inter-fraternal relations between the culturally based fraternities and sororities on campus and the greater Arizona State University community. The MGC through their programming efforts, encourage scholastic achievement among its member organizations and individuals, provide a forum for discussion and to develop action strategies regarding issues relevant to the MGC community, coordinate semester activities and service related events to promote cooperation and harmony among member organizations, and strive to promote cultural awareness.

- Cultural Greek Open House - an opportunity to meet and learn more about the fraternities and sororities of the MGC, NALFO, and NPHC councils. Each organization will be there to share information about their fraternity or sorority and to provide information on how to join. The organizations will also be showcasing their traditions of stepping, strolling, or saluting.
Wednesday, Sept. 2 | 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., Senita Ballroom
- What It Means to Be a Cultural Greek is a program that celebrates the rich culture, history and tradition of culturally based fraternities and sororities. Organizations from the MGC, NALFO, and NPHC councils serve on an open discussion panel to share what being a member of a culturally based Greek organization means to them and to field questions about multicultural Greek Life.
National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO)
The National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) serves as the governing body for the historically Latino/a fraternities and sororities at Arizona State University. Established in 1998 to promote the advancement of Latino/a fraternities and sororities, the first local NALFO council was piloted at Arizona State University in 2003. NALFO’s purpose is to promote and foster positive inter-fraternal relations, communication, and development of Latino/a fraternal organizations through mutual respect, leadership, honesty, professionalism and education.

- Wednesday, Sept 2, 6 p.m. -9 p.m., Senita Ballroom
- NALFO Welcome Back BBQ - a cookout held near the beginning of the fall semester. The BBQ allows for members of the NALFO organizations to meet with and foster relationships with students interested in learning more about NALFO in a fun and laid-back atmosphere.
- NALFO National Day of Service - an annual program in which NALFO organizations across the country participate in community service projects with the goal to foster collaboration and to make a meaningful collective impact on the community.
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), also known as the “Divine Nine” is the coordinating body for the historically African-American fraternities and sororities at Arizona State University. Originally formed in 1930 at Howard University, the purpose of the NPHC is "unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek-letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations." NPHC honors the historical spirit of community service, cooperation, cultural consciousness, scholarship, servant leadership and unity.

- Round Robin - an opportunity for students interested in joining an NPHC organization to gather more information about each of the chapters in the council. The women will rotate between rooms to learn about each sorority and the men will rotate between rooms to learn about each fraternity.
- Wednesday, Sept 9, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., GLCC
- NPHC Week - a weeklong celebration of the unity and culture of NPHC organizations. During NPHC Week the council will host a number of events centered on academic achievement, community service, and student leader development.
NPHC Family Weekend Stepshow - an event to provide organizations from NPHC an opportunity to compete against each other in a stepping, strolling, and/or dancing competition while all attendees learn about the historical relevance and importance of the dances to culturally-based Greek-letter organizations.
Panhellenic Association (PHA)
The College Panhellenic Association (CPH) is the governing council for the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities and associate member sororities on campus. The College Panhellenic Association exists to develop and maintain fraternity life and inter-fraternal relations between the sororities on campus and the greater Arizona State University community. The CPH through their all-sorority programming efforts, promote superior scholarship, leadership development and dissemination of information important to women in the sorority community. The CPH is the coordinating body for sorority formal recruitment.

Programming & Events
The Panhellenic Association offers the sorority and ASU communities programming and resources in a variety of areas.
Panhellenic Scholarships - The Panhellenic Association recognizes the value all members bring to enhance the sorority experience. It is our goal to reduce the barriers of entry and to highlight the accomplishments of women in our community. The Panhellenic Associations funds recruitment, registration, new member, active member, and leadership development scholarships for its members and potential members. For more information regarding scholarship opportunities provided by the Panhellenic Association please contact Madison, VP Internal Affairs.
- Sexual Violence Prevention Education - Panhellenic partners with ASU Sexual Violence Prevention (SVP) and Educational Outreach & Student Services to provide educational programs and resources to members and the community regarding sexual assault on campus. Since the Fall 2017 semester, over 400 women completed the Sorority Leadership Program, developed and lead by Panhellenic sorority members. Sorority members completed a six-week, in-person sexual violence prevention series, discussing topics related to healthy sexualities, consent, cultures of violence and supporting & reporting services for survivors of sexual misconduct.
- New Member Experience - Panhellenic directs a program called the Panhellenic Development Program for new members in the community. Here, individuals of each sorority will have the opportunity to engage in member development experiences like sisterhood, service and personal development, all while building relationships with women in other chapters.
