School of Art Summer Camp- Explore Tempe with a photographer’s eye! In this camp, you will arrange scenes and capture moments across ASU’s campus as you practice the full photographic process, from composition to editing to series sequencing. Each student will receive valuable 1-on-1 feedback based on their individual needs and will be able to collaborate with peers on the creation of photographic projects. At the end of camp, every participant will select their favorite shots of the week to create a class photobook!
School of Art Summer Camp- Bring an artistic vision to life through the exploration of ceramic hand building, throwing, and surface design! In this camp, you’ll create imaginative ceramic forms and apply various design methods using underglaze, painting, and carving techniques. In addition, you’ll experiment with the pottery wheel to shape your own vases, dishware, and more. After learning about the full pottery process, you’ll select pieces to be fired, which will be available for pick up after the camp's conclusion.
School of Art Summer Camp- Work with wood as you create tools, toys, and games! In this five-day introductory woodworking camp, you will learn the fundamentals of carving and joinery within the School of Art’s dedicated Woods Studio. Each participant will learn to use the bandsaw and various hand tools to design and create sculptural objects.
School of Art Summer Camp- Portrait painting has deep roots in history and still has a strong presence in the art world today. In this camp, you’ll learn how to work with oil paints, mix skin tones, tackle proportion, and create the illusion of light and form. In addition, you’ll practice mastering 3-D volume, structure, and anatomy — all leading up to painting from real life!
School of Art Summer Camp- Launch yourself into new universes while exploring favorite animations and graphic illustrations! Invent your own stories, characters, and worlds as you create and illustrate your own comics, anime, or manga. Collaborate with peers or develop unique drawings as you learn to storyboard, practice figures and poses, explore color palettes, and more.
2023 Topic: Technology: Friend or Foe? We are surrounded by all kinds of technologies: human creations that sit on top of the natural world. They make our lives pleasant, comfortable, and easy. They also capture our attention, and hold it hostage. This week, we are going to step back and ask: Are we telling technology what to do? Or is technology telling us what to do? Some guiding questions that we will be investigating: How does technology affect my well-being? What is holding my attention? What are hidden influences on my actions? What have people convinced me that I need?
INSPIRE is a no-cost, week-long, college readiness program for American Indian high school students from Tribal Nations in Arizona. During the week, students develop academic and personal success behaviors through culturally-relevant, project-based learning while connecting with ASU American Indian students, staff and faculty.

RISE Summer Leadership Institute is a residential college readiness and leadership development program for students who will be in 9th-12th grade in Fall 2023. RISE celebrates and continues the legacy of Black and African American Sun Devils at Arizona State University. The institute gives students the tools to continue as leaders in their schools and communities.

Then, students can let their imagination soar as they adapt their robots to complete a variety of challenges including a line-following challenge, climb-the-mountain challenge, and everyone’s favorite, the sumo ring tournament!
