Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program
The Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program (JBMSHP) is intended for mature and motivated students who are interested in academic careers requiring mathematics, science, or engineering-based coursework and are typically underrepresented in those fields of study. Participants live on the Arizona State University (ASU) Tempe campus while enrolled in university-level mathematics or computer science course worth 3 college credits. Students also learn valuable college and academic success information that will help them successfully transition to college. Selected participants include first-generation college-bound students and students representing diverse backgrounds from high schools throughout the State of Arizona, including rural communities and the Navajo Nation.
Cost to attend: Tuition, room and board, textbooks, and classroom materials are provided for selected students at no cost.
NOTE: Students are required to reside on the ASU Tempe campus for the duration of the JBMSHP. However, a small cohort of 10 students will be allowed to attend the JBMSHP daily from 8:00am - 4:00pm without the residential requirement. Students must provide their own transportation to and from the ASU campus. Daily attendance is critical to the student's success; those who do not adhere to the attendance policy may be withdrawn from the JBMSHP.
