The Student Unions and Centers employ more than 150 students in a variety of leadership positions. Our student leaders enjoy the flexibility and convenience of on-campus employment as well as develop skills that will prepare them to be successful leaders post-graduation. Utilizing the eight career competencies of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), student leaders develop skills in the areas of Career and Self-Development, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Professionalism, Communication, Equity and Inclusion, Technology and Leadership.

We understand our students may need on-campus employment in order to meet educational and living expenses or feel the experience could be a valuable part of their education. The skills our students obtain from working complement their academic performance and communicate to future employers their ability to succeed in a professional setting. Studies have shown that students who work do just as well or better academically than non-working students and grades improve as students work more hours per week (up to 20).
