When is Family Weekend?

 Family Weekend 2026 will be held Nov. 6-8. Registration will open in August with the release of the signature events calendar. Registration will also include a link to purchase discounted tickets to Sun Devil Athletics matches including the football game v. Colorado. Family Weekend participants should not purchase any Sun Devil Athletic tickets before completing the Family Weekend registration as Sun Devil Athletics will reserve tickets exclusively for Family Weekend participants with options available at all price-points for the best seats available in each section.

What is Family Weekend?

Family Weekend is a long-standing ASU tradition held during the fall semester. Current students invite their families to join them on campus for a weekend of events to celebrate Sun Devil spirit and traditions. Family members of all ages can enjoy activities hosted by academic colleges, campus departments and Sun Devil Athletics.

Who can attend?

Any ASU affiliated families — students, staff, faculty, alumni and their family members and guests of all ages are welcome to attend.

Where should we stay for Family Weekend?

Families can choose from a variety of accommodations to best suit their needs. Discounted hotel options will be posted to this page and will be available through Oct. 7 or until rooms fill. For additional information on traveling to ASU, go to https://visit.asu.edu/travel.

What time should families arrive in town on Friday?

Check-in will begin at each campus the morning of Friday, Nov. 6, 2026 with events typically beginning mid-morning. All Colleges will host their signature event for families Friday afternoon with campus signature events occurring Friday early evening. We encourage participating families to plan to arrive by midday Friday to maximize their weekend. The 2025 schedule is still available on the website as a reference and the 2026 schedule will launch in summer. 

When will the full schedule of events be available to participants?

The full Family Weekend 2026 schedule will be released in summer to help families plan their weekend. All participants will be emailed the schedule, which will also be posted on this website.

Are football tickets included in Family Weekend registration?

No; football tickets need to be purchased separately through Sun Devil Athletics. However, as part of the Family Weekend festivities, registrants will be eligible to purchase reduced-price tickets to attend the ASU vs. Houston home football game on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Mountain America Stadium, along with all other Sun Devil Athletic matches that weekend. Sun Devil Athletics will reserve tickets exclusively for Family Weekend participants with options available at all price-points for the best seats available in each section. We will share more information on how to receive your discount and purchase football tickets in the coming months.

Do students need to purchase tickets to the football game?

If the student would like to sit with their  family, then they will need to purchase a ticket. However, students may sit in the student section for no charge. Students will need to access their tickets through the Game Day app to download their free ticket. As a reminder, ASU students can access free tickets to all Sun Devil Athletics games.
