Family Weekend Check-In

Your Family Weekend experience begins here! Check-in will occur on a rolling basis on all campuses. You must check-in to collect your badge to attend other Family Weekend events. While we encourage families to check-in at the student's main campus, you can select one of the locations below that best suits your travel plans when registering:

Regional Night: Latin America
7 to 10 p.m. | Thunderbird Global Headquarters Building | Family Weekend Badge Required

Cultural diversity is celebrated and put on full display during this long-cherished Thunderbird tradition open to the entire ASU community.  Regional Night is a celebration featuring incredible cuisine, culture, traditions, art, and performances of a particular part of the world. This Fall’s focus is Latin America: highlighting Mexico, Brazil and Columbia.  Regional Night is organized by the Thunderbird Student Government in partnership with USG-D (undergraduate student government downtown), DOS DPC (Dean of Students office downtown), El Concilio (student coalition), GPSA (graduate and professional student association) along with the undergraduate Thunderbird team to welcome the Underbirds and their families.

'Nature Imagined' Exhibit

"Nature Imagined" is a series of paintings by Robert Palmer that explores the beauty and complexity of nature through the lens of memory and imagination. Drawing inspiration from his surroundings, Robert creates landscapes that are more than mere representations of physical spaces; they are visual expressions of his emotions and perceptions of the world around him.

The Family Weekend Car Show is a Polytechnic Signature Event that the Fulton Schools of Engineering hosts every year during Family Weekend. The event takes place in Lot 10 directly east of the Student Union. The event has been open to students and their families along with community members.

Earth and Space Open House

Earth and Space Exploration Open House is a free annual event held in the fall and spring semesters and hosted by graduate students of the School of Earth and Space Exploration. This event includes public lectures, planetarium shows, interactive science exhibits for all ages, and stargazing with telescopes to learn about the night sky.

NPHC Step Show

The NPHC Step Show is an annual cultural event held by historically Black Greek-lettered organizations through the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). The Step Show is an opportunity to show pride and unity through high energy and engaging strolling and/or stepping within their respective Fraternities and Sororities. If you have never experienced a step show, we look forward to introducing you to historical storytelling, dancing, and energetic stunts that are unique to the NPHC.

PAB's Night at the Park

Gold Rush Obstacle Course

The Gold Rush is an obstacle course race built to inspire all Sun Devils to run, walk, stroll, climb, jump, and laugh their way to an unabashed sense of triumph! It’s Family Weekend, so why not have your family compete with you or root you on to victory! An additional registration fee of $15 is required through the Family Weekend registration. Amp up for kickoff at every home game with the premier pregame experience for ASU fans. Show up for the live entertainment, food trucks, a beer garden, giveaways and special appearances by the Sun Devil Marching Band and Sparky. USC v. ASU Football

Experience ASU Football live and cheer for A-S-U as your Sun Devils play host to rival USC in a key matchup at Mountain America Stadium. Paid Family Weekend registrants will receive a link to purchase discounted tickets to the game.

AN UNTITLED LOVE

Set to the music of the neo-soul, Grammy Award-winning R&B artist D’Angelo, AN UNTITLED LOVE serves as Kyle Abraham’s creative exaltation of Black love and unity. He dedicates this feel-good work — its visceral hope, solace, and joy — to family, culture, and community strengthened over generations and lifetimes. Nearly three decades after first befriending “Brown Sugar,” D’Angelo’s debut album, Abraham choreographs to the music of a singular artist for the first time in a work of this scale. Personifying love in all forms, this work shines through devotion to detail in the music and through movement. Join us for an After Party immediately after the show and enjoy food, drinks, and the opportunity to connect with the performers.

Betsy Schneider is a photographer and filmmaker who explores and documents transformations of individuals and families over time and place. The Impossible Notecard Challenge
ASU's Youth Entrepreneurship Team focuses on empowering innovators of all ages through engaging, hands on lessons and activities. This activity is self-guided and was created on a 3D virtual reality platform called CoSpaces. Participants only need a few index cards, scissors, and 30 minutes to complete the challenge!

The VR experience will guide participants through the challenge as they try to recreate the ""Impossible Notecard"" with various constraints.
