Much of the opera is told through the music she sang, including Mozart, Gluck, Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and many of her own compositions. “Notes on Viardot” is part of the effort to make Viardot's life and compositions better known to 21st century performers and audiences. Much of the opera is told through the music she sang, including Mozart, Gluck, Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and many of her own compositions. “Notes on Viardot” is part of the effort to make Viardot's life and compositions better known to 21st century performers and audiences. The opera is by Michael Ching, whose opera “Speed Dating Tonight!” has had over 130 productions since 2013, including ASU’s virtual production in 2021.
