Your Family Weekend experience begins here! Check-in will occur on a rolling basis on all campuses. You must check-in to collect your badge to attend other Family Weekend events. While we encourage families to check-in at the student's main campus, you can select one of the locations below that best suits your travel plans when registering:

Come out to Civic Space Park, grab some light appetizers, play some games, win some prizes and then head out to explore all the amazing culinary experiences of Downtown Phoenix! Family Weekend is the perfect time to explore Downtown Phoenix's thriving arts scene. From small stages and galleries to boutiques and murals, there is no shortage of creative expression. First Friday Art Walk is one of the best things to do in Phoenix for visitors. This festival is the ultimate way to experience the city's culture, arts, and all that Downtown Phoenix has to offer.

Family Coffee Break and Campus Tours

Here you will have the opportunity to learn what being part of the ASU Family is all about while connecting with fellow family members and ASU staff. College of Integrative Sciences and Arts Poly Art Show

Join us at the Poly Multicultural Communities of Excellence (MCOE) center this weekend to see art pieces made by our students. These pieces highlight the intersection between ecology and identity showing our commitment to sustainability and the cultural connection to nature for many different cultures. A showcase of these works plus all interactive pieces will be on November 8th from 4-7 p.m.

Part of our virtual ASU Family Affinity Group Coffee Connection series, the People of Color Coffee Connection event returns to Family Weekend in-person! Join us at the Multicultural Community of Excellence- Tempe  for this casual coffee event to chat family-to-family about common interests and experiences, share resources, and build your ASU community. Alumni Association: Family Photos with Sparky

Gridiron to Gammage: A Musical Celebration of the Sun Devil Spirit featuring Gus Farwell
7:30–9 p.m. | ASU Gammage | Separate Registration Required

Gus Farwell, former ASU Quarterback turned Opera singer, will return to ASU in a musical celebration of the Sun Devil Spirit! Farwell, also known as the voice singing Go Devils Go! At touchdowns, made worldwide headlines during the pandemic singing from his balcony in Barcelona. Every night for 65 days, after the applause for the front-line medical workers, Farwell would sing to the gathered crowds, bringing hope and solace to a weary city. This event is FREE and fun for the entire Sun Devil Family. Farwell will sing beloved works from Broadway, Opera and the Great American Songbook featuring the ASU Symphony Orchestra, Gospel Choir, the Sun Devil Marching Band and faculty performers.

Wear your maroon and gold! And prepare for evening of music, celebration, and fun!

College of Global Futures Visioning the Future + Ice Cream Social

The College of Global Futures welcomes our families and student-supporters for a dynamic faculty panel and musical entertainment. A diverse group of enthusiastic academics will talk about their areas of expertise and see if they know more than our audience about obscure ASU trivia. We encourage students and guests to sign up to ensure we do not exceed capacity limits in our lecture hall. Following the faculty panel, we will enjoy a cold sweet treat and live music on our patio.

Join University College for a session showcasing student’s work in one of University College’s most dynamic courses, Life by Design. In understanding that finding career success and life meaning is not a destination but rather a process throughout life, see how students leverage design thinking which will, in turn, serve as the foundation for their college experience at ASU and post-graduation plans. Business runs in the Family

Bring your Sun Devil spirit and join W. P. Carey for an afternoon full of fun and excitement. Play giant inflatable games, get a family photo, have some food, meet W. P. Carey staff and students, and even get the chance to own your own company and participate in a business like activity.

That’s not all! Can you beat the clock? You and your family/teammates have 20 minutes to escape the classroom… but only if you can figure out the clues!

If you decide to come early you get to witness a live student pitch competition. All business students take WPC 101, in which they work on a team project called the “Entrepreneurship Challenge.” Teams identify a problem, then work together to find a solution, develop a business plan and present it within their classes. Winners are selected from more than 160 different classes, narrowed down by student leaders, and the top five will be presenting to judges beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Psyche Inspired Art Exhibit
7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. | Fletcher Library

Explore "Psyche Inspired," a new art exhibit at Fletcher Library on the West campus. On dispaly during regular library hours from until Dec. 9. Psyche is both the name of an asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter — and the name of a NASA space mission to visit that asteroid, led by Arizona State University. The NASA Psyche Inspired program brings undergraduate students from any discipline or major together to share the excitement, innovation, and scientific and engineering content of NASA’s Psyche mission with the public in new ways through artistic and creative works. The works from Psyche Inspired are shared in an online gallery and in downloadable books that tell the story of Psyche through musical scores, sculptures, painting, 3-D models, photography, acrylic art, needlepoint, stop-motion films, mixed media, and more.
Visit Fletcher Library to see the artworks on display until Dec. 9.

The Gold Rush is an obstacle course race built to inspire all Sun Devils to run, walk, stroll, climb, jump, and laugh their way to an unabashed sense of triumph! It’s Family Weekend, so why not have your family compete with you or root you on to victory! An additional registration fee of $10 is required through the Family Weekend registration. ASU Family Block Party

"A" Mountain Spirit Hike

Join the Student Alumni Association for a brisk morning hike to the iconic "A" on Tempe Butte. While this event is open to the whole family, to ensure everyone’s safety we strongly encourage parents/guardians to stay close to children under 12. Sponsored by the Student Alumni Association. We have facilities at all locations to meet your needs.  You must show your Family Weekend badge for access to the facilities and please note that minors are not permitted in the weight rooms.

Digital Photography Lecture Series
This is a lecture series featuring faculty from the Digital Photography Online Program. This week Betsy Schneider will be presenting. Betsy Schneider is a photographer and filmmaker who explores and documents transformations of individuals and families over time and place. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from Mills College in Oakland, California. She is the Founder, Lead Instructor and Coordinator of ASU's Online BFA in Digital Photography.

Through citizen science, help scientists answer questions they cannot answer without our help. When we engage in citizen science, we make and share observations, analyze data, begin to formulate questions, experiment, and ultimately construct a deeper understanding about the world, all while advancing important areas of scientific research!

The Impossible Notecard Challenge
ASU's Youth Entrepreneurship Team focuses on empowering innovators of all ages through engaging, hands on lessons and activities. This activity is self-guided and was created on a 3D virtual reality platform called CoSpaces. Participants only need a few index cards, scissors, and 30 minutes to complete the challenge!

The VR experience will guide participants through the challenge as they try to recreate the ""Impossible Notecard"" with various constraints. Participants will walk away with an understanding of the ""Fail Forward"" mentality. Learning by doing at it's finest! The Youth Entrepreneurship Team is part of the J.
