Scholars at all levels (including students and those out of academia) are invited to attend the fall 2022 Veterans in Society conference, hosted this year by ASU's Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement, in conjunction with the Veterans Studies Association. 

The conference kicks off the evening of Oct. 20 with a keynote address and reception; Oct. 21 will be a full day of sessions. 

The call for papers opened March 14 and closes July 15, 2022.

The ten-time Grammy® winner was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, and Rolling Stone recognized her as both one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” and one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time.”

Visionary choreographer Liz Lerman’s dance-theater piece WICKED BODIES explores the culture of old crones, evil stepmothers, and the use of the female body as a source of fear by governments and institutions. Part epic, part fable, we discover ways in which female wisdom has emerged over time even as it has been misunderstood, negated and legislated against.
 

The Duet Project is a series of duets between Eiko Otake and a diverse group of collaborating artists, living and dead. Collaborators come from different places, times and artistic disciplines. These duets will investigate how two artists collide and express what they care about.

This conversation considers mutual aid efforts nationally through a local lens, specifically the relationship with law enforcement that often conflicts with these humanitarian efforts.
