ASU hosts Yale psychologist Woo-kyoung Ahn, author of "Thinking 101: How to Reason Better to Live Better," for a virtual visit on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 at 6 p.m. Ahn will discuss "Thinking 101" and answer questions from faculty and students at this event.

ASU's Writing Programs has selected Ahn's nonfiction book as its 2023-2024 Common Read.

The “Thinking Beyond” webinar series features renowned physicists Paul Davies, Sara Walker and Maulik Parikh from the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University and addresses a big question/topic in science. In this lecture, Mark New will present work conducted by the African Climate and Development Initiative at the University of Cape Town on impacts attribution using examples from water security, food security and sovereign catastrophe insurance. Importantly, in some of these examples the potential of adaptation options can be tested to offset attributable climate impacts, allowing quantification of the effectiveness of adaptation in a manner similar to approaches used in medical treatment studies.

The Narrative Storytelling Initiative at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory invites you to this dynamic water narratives experience. While addressing critical water challenges facing Arizona, the Southwest region and the globe, this multimedia experience will feature a variety of narrative approaches that can inspire and create positive impact.
