First Year Orientation Experience

Welcome, Sun Devil. Your ASU experience starts here!

We are excited you have chosen to become part of the Sun Devil family! We’re here to support and provide you with the resources to ensure you start your journey as a Sun Devil successfully. Your experience at Arizona State University begins with the New Student Orientation Experience. This is an essential part of your college experience that provides a solid foundation for your success.

Your experience at Arizona State University is more than academics. The New Student Orientation Experience will allow you to make a successful transition to college. You’ll connect with future classmates, learn about the services available to help you succeed, and explore the various opportunities on how you can get involved. We can’t wait to see everything you will achieve during your time as a Sun Devil. Forks up!

Getting Started

The New Student Orientation Experience will guide you through everything you need to know about your new journey as a Sun Devil. Before you can begin your New Student Orientation Experience, a $300 enrollment deposit must be paid.

The enrollment deposit allows you to begin your next steps toward enrollment, which include registering for New Student Orientation, getting your ID card and selecting your room in a residence hall. You can submit your enrollment deposit beginning Oct. 1.

Pay Enrollment Deposit

Yes! If you are unable to pay online through your My ASU page, checks can be made payable to Arizona State University, and sent to: ASU New Student Programs, PO Box 872201, Tempe, AZ 85287-2201. Please include the student's 10-digit ASU ID number in the memo line.

For students enrolling in the fall semester, the enrollment deposit date is May 31. For students enrolling in the spring semester, the enrollment deposit date is December 1.   Enrollment deposits submitted on or after the May 31 and December 1 deadlines are not eligible for any refunds if the student declines their admission to ASU.

Incoming students who have paid the enrollment deposit and declined admission on or before the deadlines — May 31st for fall admission or December 1 for spring admission — are eligible for a refund. Once a student cancels their admission, an enrollment deposit refund will be triggered and refunded back in the method in which it was paid. Enrollment deposits submitted on or after the May 31 deadline for fall admission or the December 1 deadline for spring admission are not eligible for any refunds.

The maximum refund disbursed is $250 due to processing fees.
