When in crisis

When in Crisis

You Are Not Alone

You are not alone in a crisis.  We encourage you to be honest with one person, and seek support to move you through this moment, day or period in your life. We are here to be that one person when you need us.

Same Day Services

ASU Counseling Services prioritizes immediate access to services to ensure that all students who request or need services can be seen the same day either in-person or through telehealth. Call or walk into one of our four campus locations.
Our Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, Polytechnic and ASU West locations are open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

EMPACT Crisis Line

EMPACT is ASU’s dedicated 24-hour dedicated crisis line that’s available outside of normal business hours and on holidays and weekends. Although EMPACT is intended for crisis support, you don’t necessarily have to be in crisis to call. You may just need guidance on how to handle a concern about a student or friend or need a helpful resource. EMPACT is staffed by highly qualified, helpful professionals that are there to help, call 480-921-1006.

Concerned about a student?

Faculty, staff, and parents are often the first to know about a student in crisis. They can also be very helpful in supporting a student in distress to access counseling services. ASU Counseling Services staff offers consultation assistance to concerned parents, faculty, staff, and other students who have concerns about a student.

By speaking with one of our counselors, you can receive information about how to talk with a student experiencing difficulties and how to access various resources. You may call any ASU Counseling Services location and ask to speak to a counselor who will help you decide what options are available.

If a crisis occurs on or near campus, students, faculty  and staff may be affected. ASU Counseling Services staff will schedule meetings with groups of faculty, staff and students who have been affected by a crisis. You may call any ASU Counseling Services location and ask to speak with a counselor who will talk with you about your needs.
