Well Devil Directors

2014-2015 Academic Year

The Well Devil Coalition is a student led organization made up of four chapters housed on each of the ASU locations that work together to promote a well mind, body and community. The Well Devil Coalition focuses on community engagement, programming, education and policy. We are currently hiring Directors and Assistant Directors for each of the coalition chapters.

Job Description for Directors and Assistant Directors
The Well Devil Coalition Director’s primary responsibility is to work with a team of student leaders to promote a well mind, body and community to help students achieve their personal, professional, and academic potential.

Qualifications for Directors and Assistant Directors:

  • Prior experience in a student leadership position.
  • Must be able to attend a two day training at ASU Tempe on August 11-12, 2014.
  • Must not hold another job at Arizona State University for more than fifteen hours per week.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at ASU, 6 of these must be at the campus you are applying to.
  • Ability to accept employment for the full 2014-2015 academic year.
  • Must currently have at least a 2.5 GPA and must maintain a 2.5 while in your role.
  • Experience working with or willingness to receive training on wellness topics such as sexual health, sexual violence, suicide, and alcohol and other drugs, nutrition, fitness, body image, and stress.

Essential Duties: Director
Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Recruit student organizations to join the Well Devil Coalition.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly Coalition Chapter meetings.
  • Attend the Well Devil Coalition Executive Board meetings (Will need to travel to other ASU locations to attend the executive board meetings via ASU shuttle).
  • Maintain communication with Well Devil Coalition Directors.
  • Work with Advisors and Assistant Director to select Chairs for the, Programming, Community Engagement, Education and Policy committees.
  • Supervise committee chairs.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to develop programs and services to meet the needs of ASU students.
  • Manage the Well Devil Coalition Budget.
  • Work with the Sun Devil Fitness Complex, ASU Wellness, ASU Counseling Services and ASU Health Services to promote a well community at ASU.
  • Promote ASU Spirit, Pride and Traditions by wearing gold on Fridays and attending Devils on Mill, Welcome Week activities, homecoming, Devils in Disguise and other university events.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of the Well Devil Welcome.
  • Facilitate the Well Devil Fall Retreat.
  • Represent Well Devils at local conferences pertaining to wellness.
  • Collaborate with other executive board members to establish the mission, vision, and goals of the Well Devil Coalition.
  • Meet with the ASU Administration to discuss university-wide wellness programs, services, and policies.
  • Dedicate 10 hours a week to Well Devil Coalition activities
    • Hold at least five office hours per week.
    • Attend wellness related events on campus.
    • Respond to all email and phone communications within a 24-hour time period.
    • Attend weekly meetings with the Advisors and Assistant Directors.
    • Attend trainings assigned by the advisors.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Recruit students to join the Well Devil Coalition Committees.
  • Attend bi-weekly Coalition Chapter meetings.
  • Attend the Well Devil Coalition Executive Board meetings (Will need to travel to other ASU locations to attend the executive board meetings via ASU shuttle).
  • Work with Advisors and Director to select Chairs for the Programming, Community Engagement, Education and Policy committees.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to develop programs and services to meet the needs of ASU students.
  • Manage the Well Devil Coalition Volunteer Database.
  • Meet with students who fill out the volunteer interest form on the Well Devils website and connect them with member organizations and/or volunteer opportunities.
  • Work with the Sun Devil Fitness Complex, ASU Wellness, ASU Counseling Services and ASU Health Services to promote a well community at ASU.
  • Promote ASU Spirit, Pride and Traditions by wearing gold on Fridays and attending Devils on Mill, Welcome Week activities, homecoming, Devils and Disguise and other University events.

Compensation: Directors will be compensated $1,200 a semester and Assistant Directors will be compensated $1,000 a semester.

Training
Applicants who are selected for the Well Devil Coalition positions will need to report to ASU Tempe on August 11-12, 2014 for training. Training is mandatory and is an important component to the position. Exceptions to miss training will not be granted unless there is an extenuating circumstance such as a summer Study Abroad trip, internship or vacation that has already been booked. Hiring Process
