Solera Experience at ASU West Valley
The Solera Experience is a one-day event designed for all incoming first-year and transfer students at ASU's West Valley campus. This experience is highly recommended to help you forge new friendships, connect with supportive staff and distinguished faculty, and get acquainted with the campus and ASU traditions. Participating in the Solera Experience will lay a solid foundation for your college journey and create lasting memories to enrich your Sun Devil story.
Annual Solera at West Valley Cardboard Boat Race
Who will win the Solera Cardboard Boat Race? One member from each team will be selected to captain the boat and compete against each other to be the fastest boat to cross the Sun Devil Fitness Complex (SDFC) pool.
Who Should Attend
Participation in the Solera Experience at ASU West Valley is expected for all first-year students enrolled in the following colleges at ASU's West Valley campus:
- Barrett, the Honors College
- College of Health Solutions
- Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation
- Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions
- Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College
- New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences
- Thunderbird School of Global Management
- W. P. Carey School of Business
- Ira Fulton School of Engineering
- University College
Frequently asked questions
Check-in for the Solera Experience at ASU West Valley will occur on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. in the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. The program will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Additional information for both residential and off-campus students will be emailed to participants one week prior to the start of the Solera Experience.

- Medications (including over-the-counter pain relievers/allergy medicines)
- Sneakers and socks (closed-toe shoes required for certain activities)
