This annual event is a residential summer enrichment program for academically talented and motivated students entering 8th, 9th, 10th & 11th grade in Fall 2023. Students participate in a Critical Thinking or Human Event course and an elective taught by university faculty or staff to prepare them for enrollment and success at ASU, and Barrett, the Honors College.
This annual event is a residential summer enrichment program for academically talented and motivated students entering 8th, 9th, 10th & 11th grade in Fall 2023. Participants in grades 7 - 9 will be introduced to the engineering design process while learning basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts like simple machines, electric circuits, programming, computational thinking, music, and storytelling. The project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem-solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication.
Are you an Arizona high school student interested in learning more about engineers and how they impact our world and society? The National Summer Transportation Institute will engage you in projects and field trips that demonstrate how engineers plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state of Arizona. As an NSTI participant, you will live on campus for one week while interacting with ASU engineering faculty and students, engaging in transportation-related field trips, and completing a project related to maintaining safe, sustainable, and efficient transit.
