What is the Sexual Violence Prevention Fund?

The Sexual Violence Prevention Fund, developed in partnership with ASU Changemaker Central, is an opportunity for ASU students to make a meaningful contribution to the ASU and local community around sexual and relationship violence prevention. Individuals and student groups are encouraged to apply for the Sexual Violence Prevention Community Action Grant for a chance to receive up to $1,500 to implement new, innovative programs and projects for the ASU community.

Projects should be focused on primary prevention such as education, skill-building and social connectivity. Students can apply individually or in a team of up to five people. Applicants with projects that address issues pertaining to underrepresented populations are especially encouraged to apply.

How do I apply for the Sexual Violence Prevention Fund?

Applications are accepted every fall semester and reviewed by staff and student team members of the ASU Sexual and Relationship Violence Program. Most awarded projects are then implemented in the following spring semester with the assistance of the ASU Sexual and Relationship Violence Program staff. The number of projects awarded varies per year and depends on the quality of received applications.

The following must be included in every application:

  1. Executive summary of proposal
  2. Project timeline
  3. Proposed or estimated project budget

Looking back

The Sexual Violence Prevention Fund has been offered, in parternship with ASU Changemaker Central, since 2018. Over the years, a number of projects have been funded that have created a significant impact on our community, both by aiding in the primary prevention of sexual and relationship violence and the support of victims and survivors.
