The Sexual and Relationship Violence Program (SRVP) offers education, prevention, confidential advocacy and healing programs to cultivate a survivor-supportive community that works to eliminate violence, discrimination and harassment. SRVP promotes skills building, social marketing to reinforce positive community norms, individualized pathways for support and healing, and opportunities for structured involvement to contribute to violence prevention and victim-survivor support.
Our work is developed through a trauma-informed and anti-oppression lens, and is guided by multidisciplinary research and best practices in the fields of public health, social work, gender studies, psychology and more.

Online education and presentations are provided to enhance the student experience in class, as a member of a student group or organization, or within a residential college. Topics that are addressed through education include but are not limited to: developing healthy relationships, the continuum of violence, navigating unhealthy and abusive relationships and seeking support, definitions of consent and sexual assault, bystander intervention and supporting victims and survivors.
Students are invited to get involved as peer educators, interns, volunteers or student organization members. Students may assist with awareness events, staffing information tables, serving on committees, participating in workgroups and contributing to program development and evaluation. Training is provided to prepare students for the level of work they will do to promote violence prevention.
Educational posters, brochures, digital messages, banners and more are placed across ASU’s campuses to reinforce education and skills gained in class and online. In addition, graphics reflecting the same messages are distributed via social media, email newsletters and more.
Signature events are provided throughout the year to reinforce educational messages offered through online platforms, in-person trainings and social marketing messages. These signature events are designed to engage the community at large in the prevention of sexual and relationship violence. View upcoming events to learn more, see where you can get involved, and reach out to srvp@asu.edu to plan your own program or event today.
Opportunities to enhance the skills of peers to best support victims and survivors of sexual and relationship violence are offered through a multitude of modalities such as in-person and virtual training. For example, The Sun Devil Support Network is a peer survivor support program consisting of ASU community members trained to provide an empathetic and trauma-informed response to survivors and connect them to ASU, local, state or national resources for additional support.
If you have experienced or witnessed any form of violence or have been a victim of another crime, you are not alone. Support is available. Contact a Victim-Survivor Advocate through the Sexual and Relationship Violence Program for free and confidential support at victimservices@asu.edu, 480-727-5167, or through the Victim Survivor Services Scheduling Form.
