Spirit. Pride. Tradition. Community. As a Sun Devil, your student joins an institution with a long history of proud traditions and engaging programming. From Orientation through Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, Homecoming and new traditions like Night of the Open Door, ASU provides opportunities for your student to a part of a special community. As parents, we encourage you to be a part of your student’s Sun Devil story.
Congratulations! Your student has been admitted to ASU. Orientation is a key step in your student’s transition to ASU, and is required of all incoming students. During Orientation your student will meet with current and future students and work with his or her academic advisor to select and register for courses. You and your students will have the opportunity to connect with a variety of crucial university services including university housing, financial aid and student services and resources.
ASU Welcome is a time for incoming students to settle into and explore their lives as the newest members of the Sun Devil family. From move-in to the first day of classes, we’re here to make sure your students get off on the right track.
Family Weekend is a time for ASU students and their families to celebrate being a part of the Sun Devil family. Join us September 28-30 for Family Weekend 2018!
One of ASU’s longtime traditions, Homecoming brings students, families, alumni, and the university community together. Join your students for the Lantern Walk, Homecoming Parade, or football game and see what makes being a part of the Sun Devil community so special.
Night of the Open Door
ASU’s newest tradition is also an excellent opportunity to see your student as ASU rolls out its academic highlights. With more than 100 tours, demonstrations and events, over a thousand volunteers and attracting more than 15,000 attendees of all ages from the Phoenix metropolitan community and beyond, Night of the Open Door is a true celebration of the sciences, culture, engineering, humanities and the arts.
