ASU is committed to providing Health and Wellness services and resources to support ASU’s LGBTQIA+ population in order to facilitate personal and professional growth.


Counseling Services — Each campus counseling center provides confidential individual counseling, group counseling, psycho-educational programming, and consultation services for faculty, staff and students. Counseling staff have training and experience in issues facing university students and are committed to helping them adjust to campus life and meet their academic goals.

ASU Health Services — A comprehensive health care facility providing acute, chronic and preventive healthcare to the ASU student and staff community. Convenient locations are available on the Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, Tempe, and West locations.

ASU Health Services is a partner with the Mayo Clinic Care Network and is also nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). It is staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, massage therapists, acupuncture specialists and chiropractors and offers an on-site lab, radiographic services as well as nutritional services, massage, acupuncture and chiropractic at some of our locations. Services specifically of interest to the LGBTQ community include:

  • Access to STI testing and treatment through a Primary Care Provider or on a walk-in basis
  • Medical care and hormonal transition services for transgender persons
  • Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for reduction of HIV infection risk
  • Comprehensive Gynecology Service
  • Comprehensive Men’s Health Services
  • Immunization services including HPV vaccine to reduce the risk of genital warts and cervical and anogenital cancers.

Health Services takes a variety of insurances, including Aetna Student Health Insurance, offered to our students for purchase, as well as offering a discount plan called the Bridge Plan for uninsured or underinsured students. Insurance advice is provided by our Patient Advocates.

Appointments can be made online at the Patient Portal or by calling 480-965-3349 during normal business hours or in person at any of the Health Service Locations.  For immediate concerns, walk-in appointments are available. There is a provider on-call at all times for Emergencies when the office is closed.

ASU Wellness — ASU Wellness promotes wellness and fosters a healthy campus environment so that all members of the University can be better positioned for academic, personal and professional success. ASU Wellness programs provide information, education and resources to students on: Alcohol and Other Drugs, Depression and Suicide, Healthy Relationships and Sexual Violence, and Stress.
