Outdoor Event Requests

Arizona State University departments and registered student organizations may reserve the following outdoor areas for tabling, informational displays or special events:

  • Portions of Cady and Orange Mall
  • Student Services Lawn

To make a mall/lawn reservation, please submit an Outdoor Event Form to Event and Meeting Services at least 1 week prior to your event (forms will not be accepted with less than two full working days notice).

Special events and any event that includes a non-university organization should be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance as many will require extra approvals, insurance and/or fees. An event coordinator will review the request and advise you on additional steps needed to approve your use of space. More information can be found in the terms and conditions document linked below.

The MU has tables and chairs available for use by ASU affiliated groups for reservations on the Mall, Monday to Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tables and chairs must be picked up at and returned to the Student Pavilion lobby by the reserving organization or designee.

Registered Student Organization (RSO) are required to indicate the specific use of their table reservation (e.g. promotion of their own organization, events or services). If on the day of the reservation, it is discovered the RSO is not utilizing the reserved space according to the purpose it was reserved, the reservation will be canceled. If it is discovered that the table was reserved for a non-Arizona State University organization (NUO) or with primary intent of advertising on behalf of a NUO or their interest without following the current practice, the reservation will be canceled and the organization will be informed of and instructed to follow the steps associated with the Mall Sales/Promotion Program. If a RSO is sponsoring a NUO, on the day of the reservation, both the NUO and a member (or recognized officer of the RSO), must check in together at the Student Pavilion to receive the table and chairs for their assigned spot. When checking in, the member (or officer) of the RSO must identify themselves as an ASU affiliated member by showing valid ASU identification. The member of the sponsoring RSO must be present at the table with the NUO at all times throughout the reservation. During the scheduled reservation, both the RSO and NUO name must be clearly displayed at all times and on all marketing materials.

Amplified Sound.

The MU also has a sound system for use on the North Stage and Student Services lawn. This equipment must be reserved prior to the event and can be picked up at the MU Information Desk by presenting an ID. The equipment may be used Weekdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. No amplification is permitted on Sundays.
