#ShareStories

Let the world know who you are

Your cultural traditions are greatly appreciated in the Sun Devil Community. #ShareStories is the platform where you can share your heritage and traditions through storytelling, hosting presentations, music, songs, dance, and art.

Three ways to share

Host a 1-hour session through Zoom.

Share the culture from your home country. It could be an introduction of your country; presentation of a special holiday; or a live cultural performance.

Submit your response to the following questions in blog (200-800 words) or video format.

  • Why did you choose ASU? Why did you pick your degree program?
  • What were you excited about and/or nervous about before you left your home country?
  • What was the hardest adjustment in the U.S., in general, you had to make?
  • What was the most exciting thing you learned about the U.S. culture?
  • How did you deal with homesickness?
  • How did you get involved in the ASU community?
  • What’s the biggest challenge you have had so far during your study in the ASU? How did you overcome it?
  • What advice would you give to other students?

Act as an ambassador during International Orientation.

  • Host an “Ask Me” session for incoming international students and answer any question they may have from students’ perspective. Related training and logistics support will be provided by International Student Engagement.
  • Contribute to International Orientation as a panelist for various student panels.
