Selected students and parents/guardians are prepared for university entrance and persistence during the students 8-12th grade years.

Program Commitment / Compromiso del Programa

The Hispanic Mother-Daughter Program requires a five-year commitment to the program. Selected parent/student teams agree to attend online workshops beginning the student’s 8th grade year through to the completion of 12th grade.

Hispanic Mother-Daughter Program (HMDP) requiere un compromiso de cinco años con el programa. Los equipos de padres / estudiantes seleccionados aceptan asistir a talleres en línea desde el 8º grado del estudiante hasta la finalización del 12º grado.


Is there a cost to participate in HMDP?

Parents and students attend all classes and receive course materials free of charge.

When does recruitment begin for first-generation 7th grade students?

Recruitment for 7th grade applicants begin in the Spring semester. Please contact your students’ school for more information.

What topics are covered?

Some topic examples are:

  • Financial Literacy
  • Leadership Skills
  • College Admission Process
  • Social and Emotional Well-Being
  • And many more

What does a 5-year commitment mean?

  • Student parents/guardians participate in ALL virtual workshops per each grade level
  • Student attend a one on one advisory session with an HMDP representative (1 per semester)
  • Commitment to higher education
