Who we are


The ASU Family Ambassador Council is a committed group of parents and family members dedicated to advancing family engagement to drive the success of all Sun Devils in support of the Arizona State University Charter. We foster an inclusive family community through innovative programs, resource sharing and support for students and families as they create their own ASU experience.

Members


The ASU Family Ambassador Council consists of parents and family members from across the globe who are committed to student success and family engagement. Council leaders:

  • Must be the parent or family member of an incoming, current or former ASU university student
  • Can be located anywhere in the world
  • Agree to uphold all Council commitments to maintain and/or renew membership. Council commitments detailed on the application form and include participation in Council meetings, involvement activities and committee work. Council members commit to a 1-year (June-May) term that is renewable for all members in good standing. 
    • 2025-2026 Ambassador Council Meeting Schedule:
      • Q1: August 14, 2025, afternoon, time TBD (hybrid, in person preferred at ASU Tempe campus)
      • Q2: November 20, 2025, 5:30-7 p.m. Arizona time (virtual)
      • Q3: February 12, 2026, 5:30-7 p.m. Arizona time (virtual)
      • Q4: May 7, 2026, 5:30-7 p.m. Arizona time (virtual) 


Family Ambassador Council Member Commitments


Family Ambassador Council (FAC) members play an essential role in advancing the goals of the Family Ambassador Council, ASU Family, and the university. Members are expected to support one or more of the following activities:

  • Task Force Participation: Serve on at least one Task Force per year (maximum of six meetings). Task Forces focus on key areas such as Membership, Philanthropy, Council Guides, and Council Community, with additional task forces established as needed. Members are expected to attend meetings and contribute to projects that align with these focus areas.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Complete a minimum of six volunteer hours per academic year, either virtually or in person. Volunteer opportunities may include:
    • Supporting ASU Family events
    • Writing letters to new Sun Devil families
    • Serving as a panelist for family-focused discussions
    • Participating in ASU signature events such as Commencement, Change the World, and Homecoming
    • Additional opportunities as they arise
       

FAC members are encouraged to participate in activities that align with their interests and are welcome to engage in multiple task forces and volunteer opportunities beyond the minimum commitment.
