Memorial Union

Considered the “living room” of the Tempe campus, the Memorial Union is a 254,000 square foot community gathering space and conference center located in the heart of ASU Tempe. Renovations to this historic facility included additional group meeting space, a meditation/interfaith space, a feature stairwell connecting the main level to lower level, new restrooms and a new Student Media Services space with Chroma key studio and workshop. Additionally, the recreation area and lower level dining spaces received extensive updates with re-imagined space for billiard tables, table tennis and expanded seating for casual dining.
The Memorial Union exemplifies ASU’s commitment to sustainability with its adaptive and sustainable building design and is on track to receive LEED Gold certification. The facility features innovative green building technologies and local, regional and recycled building materials.

Student Pavilion

Year Opened: Fall 2017
Designed as a net zero energy building, the goal is to produce as much as energy as it uses on an annual basis to complement the larger university goal of climate net neutrality and sustainable building systems. The Student Pavilion serves as a hub of student activity with student-led events, like guest lectures, concerts, comedic performances and student productions come to life. The focal point of the pavilion is a multi-use event space with seating for up to 1,200. The event space can also be transformed into three smaller event or meeting rooms to accommodate the needs of the 1,000 plus clubs and organizations at ASU.
Offices for Undergraduate Student Government, cultural coalitions, and the Programs and Activities Board are located on the second floor with interactive academic classrooms and University Academic Success Programs located on the third floor.

Student Center @ the Post Office

Location: Downtown Phoenix

A section of the historic U.S. Post Office was renovated to provide student engagement and meeting space for students enrolled in academic programs at the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus.
The student activity space is adjacent to the public space and provides opportunities for events and social gatherings.
The renovation includes a social area, a large multi-purpose room, multiple conference rooms, a game room, and office space for student organizations.
The student engagement space increases student involvement through leadership and employment opportunities.

Sun Devil Fitness Complex Downtown Phoenix

The Sun Devil Fitness Complex Downtown Phoenix offers state-of-the-art weight and fitness areas, including cardiovascular and strength equipment, and free weights. In addition, the SDFC Downtown features three multi-purpose studios for group fitness and mind/body classes, a two-court gymnasium, a rooftop outdoor leisure pool and a multi-purpose area for student clubs to utilize. With classroom space for Exercise & Wellness on the second floor, the new facility augments the existing YMCA services and will serve both ASU students and Y members.
The new facilities enhance recreation and wellness programming in fitness, intramurals, sport clubs, aquatics and drop-in play, which further engages students, builds community and supports healthy lifestyles.
The building is a five-story, sustainable structure, with a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification.

Sun Devil Fitness Complex Polytechnic

The Sun Devil Fitness Complex Polytechnic recreation facility is a two-story, sustainable structure, with a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification.
This new facility includes two soccer fields, a softball field, a state-of-the-art weight and fitness area, including cardiovascular and strength equipment and free weights. Additionally, the new facility houses three multi-purpose studios for group fitness and mind/body classes. Other features include, a student sport and activity clubs area, a two-court sports gymnasium, a multi-activity gymnasium, two racquetball courts, expanded Health Services with a wellness area, and an outdoor leisure pool with lap lanes and locker room facilities.
The new facilities enhance recreation and wellness programming in fitness, intramurals, sport clubs, aquatics and drop-in play, which will further engage students, build community and support healthy lifestyles.

The enhanced facility is a two-story, sustainable structure, with a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification.
The facility includes an additional state-of-the-art weight and fitness area, including cardiovascular and strength equipment, and free weights; two multipurpose studios for group fitness classes and student sport/activity clubs; a three-court and a two-court gymnasium for sports and campus events; a multi-activity court (MAC) gymnasium; a wellness suite for massage, meditation, and other wellness programs and services.
The expansion also includes the development of additional sport fields.

The Sun Devil Fitness Complex West is a three story, sustainable structure, with a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification.
This facility includes, a 6-acre multipurpose field, redevelopment of an existing field as a green quad for campus activities, a weight and fitness area, two multipurpose studios for group fitness and mind/body classes and student sport/activity clubs.
Other features include, a two-court gymnasium for sports and campus events, two racquetball courts, a wellness space and three alternative medicine studios, a pool with lap lanes and locker facilities, a bike co-op for bike rentals and repairs, and a 3-lane indoor running track with exterior exercise terraces.
The new facilities enhance recreation and wellness programming in fitness, intramurals, sport clubs,
aquatics and drop-in play, which further engages students, build community and support healthy lifestyles.
