Guidelines of use

  • Candles, incense and other flammables are not allowed inside Danforth Chapel. 
  • Food and drink are not allowed inside Danforth Chapel.
  • Throwing rice, birdseed or glitter of any kind is not permitted inside or outside Danforth Chapel.
  • Upon departure from the chapel, all furniture must be arranged as originally found.  This will serve as a courtesy to those who will be using Danforth for any subsequent event/ meeting.
  • All boxes, papers, decorations and supplies brought into the chapel must be removed at the close of any meeting or event. 
  • Nothing may be attached to the walls and doors of Danforth Chapel, including tape, staples or other fasteners.
  • Do not tamper with or change thermostat settings within the chapel.
  • Please be advised that the Dean of Students Office and Arizona State University are not responsible for any personal belongings or rental items left in the chapel.
  • To comply with fire code regulations, the aisle in the chapel must be at least 42 inches wide. In addition, all doors must remain unlocked and unblocked when guests are inside the chapel.
  • There are no restroom facilities in Danforth Chapel.  Restrooms are available in Hayden Library (a few feet north of Danforth) or in the Memorial Union (southeast of Danforth).
  • Parking Availability for Danforth Chapel:
    • Metered parking: along Gammage Parkway and Forest Avenue.
    • Garage Parking: Apache Structure, corner of Apache Boulevard and Normal Avenue.
    • Rates: Monday through Sunday, 24 hours
      1. 1 hour or less — $4. Maximum rate: $16.
      2. 1-2 hours — $8.
      3. 2-3 hours — $12.
      4. 3-4 hours — $16.
  • The Dean of Students Office reserves the right to change location and/or cancel an event or meeting, if necessary. Every effort will be made to notify the organization/individual as early as possible.
  • Reserved Events: It is extremely important that all chapel doors must be locked upon completion of reserved weekend events. This includes the exterior doors, slide latch and all interior doors.  Do not leave the key behind, as it must be returned to the Dean of Students office on the next business day following the event.
