Student Connection and Community
Join us for a symposium on femicide/feminicidio in Mexico that will feature journalists, lawyers, activists, academics and a film director in a solutions-focused dialogue. There will be two 1.5 hour panels, each focused on specific approaches to the problem: journalism, legal/activism, and cultural production, followed by an inclusive round-table discussion from which we hope to generate ideas about concrete solutions to the problem, and where our students and community can get involved. There will also be a film screening of a documentary about femicide in Mexico followed by a 30 min Q & A with the film's director. To make the symposium accessible to both Spanish and English speakers, we hope to provide live interpretation for the event.
