The History of the Future: Her
Join ASU's Center for Science and the Imagination in partnership with Majestic Neighborhood Cinema in Tempe to view Outland on the silver screen. This screening is part of a greater film series: The History of the Future, exploring gripping, cinematic visions of the future across the past four decades.
Join us Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 7 p.m. for a screening of Her, the ground-breaking film that dives into the ethical questions behind super AI integrating into our society in the near future.
The film will be introduced by Dr. Ed Finn, the founding Director of ASU's Center for Science and the Imagination. Dr. Finn has explored the conjunction of science fiction and the humanities to find ways that the depictions of the future actually affect the realities that we come to know. He has studied algorithms and their societal applications and is ready to share how Her encapsulates and extrapolates the technology of today into a vision of the future.
Make sure to arrive early to take advantage of Majestic Theaters' dining experience!
