Birthing Justice
The US has the highest maternal mortality rate among similarly large and wealthy nations. Why are we still having challenges facilitating birth, a natural process that has happened thousands of times a day since the beginning of time? In the United States, we are experiencing a gap in birthing knowledge. Birth education is a right and something that was historically passed down by generations.
In this program we aim to establish base-level knowledge of the different facets of birth work and how they impact parents, children, and their networks of support. We also hope to equip participants with a toolbox on how to advocate for themselves and family members, specifically in the context of birthing healthcare.
