Our Lifelong Inclusive Framework in Education (LIFE) provides additional support to students with disabilities through a number of continuing and new program offerings. LIFE provides a path for students entering ASU to find their voice and learn new skills (communication, executive functioning, organization and more) that will provide them with the tools necessary to attain employment and establish strong careers.
The program currently includes the I AM peer mentoring program, in its second year (1st post COVID). This program started online at the same time we moved to remote learning and features a strong contingent of ASU Online and on campus students using the service. Most on-campus students also prefer to meet remotely because of the convenience it allows, while mentors and mentees take advantage of the opportunity to meet face to face, and engage in on-campus activities. LIFE is focused on developing pathways not only for university entry but for success through peer mentorship, socio-cultural workshops, career coaching and more which enhances on campus engagement. Transition strategies then help students identify internship opportunities and find employment with company partners who value their strengths.
