The Engineering Projects in Community Service program, known as EPICS, is a national award -winning social entrepreneurship program. Students design, build, and deploy systems to solve engineering-based problems for charities, schools, and other not-for-profit organizations. During this program, students will be introduced to engineering design, rapid prototyping (laser cutting, CAD, Arduino, 3D printing), and prototype testing through a hands-on, application-based summer camp. Members from the community will introduce a problem encountered by their non-profit, and students will spend the week designing, building, and testing a possible solution to meet their user needs. EPICS projects range from solar panel battery systems, engagement toys for animals at the Phoenix Zoo, 3D printed prosthetics, and tools for training service dogs.

Get ready for a fast-paced, hands-on adventure at the STEAM Machines™ Maker Mini-Camp at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center! This inventive 3-day camp for ages 11-14 invites students to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through fun, creative challenges. Campers will build simple machines, design electric circuits, learn programming basics, and collaborate with peers to create an epic chain-reaction machine that even plays recorded music. Along the way, they’ll use exciting tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, Arduino microcontrollers, and artificial intelligence as part of the design process. Students will keep their machine, including the Arduino and accessories.  Running from 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Thursday, this mini-camp is packed with creativity, teamwork, and unforgettable STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fun.

Barrett Summer Scholars (BSS) is a summer residential program that gives motivated high school students the opportunity to experience college life while strengthening academic and leadership skills. Participants explore challenging topics, build college-ready habits, and learn what it’s like to study on a university campus. Designed for students across multiple grade levels, BSS helps participants feel more prepared, confident, and excited about their transition to higher education.

The BSS program provides an immersive academic experience that prepares students for success in college and beyond, with a focus on:

Applicants entering the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2026 are eligible to apply. Academically motivated and/or high-achieving students are encouraged to apply. Applicants must also meet the minimum GPA requirements:

• 9th and 10th Grade: Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
• 11th and 12th Grade: Unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher

The GAME School annually hosts a summer program for students ages 12 to 18, featuring five-day, project-focused workshops.

Students work directly with faculty and graduate students who are experts in their field. Open to students of all levels of experience, we offer a variety of interdisciplinary classes infused with ideas and practices from the arts, music, digital media, computer science, technology and engineering. Bring an artistic vision to life through the exploration of ceramic hand building, throwing and surface design! In this camp, you’ll create imaginative ceramic forms and apply various design methods using underglaze, painting and carving techniques. In addition, you’ll experiment with the pottery wheel to shape your own vases, dishware and more. After learning about the full pottery process, you’ll select pieces to be fired, which will be available for pick up after the camp's conclusion.

This drawing-centered camp will demystify the traditional processes of hand-drawn sequential animation, allowing students to bring an action to life from sketch to screen. Students will learn to draw items and live models in motion, applying principles of anatomy, structure, balance and reactive force to understand the human figure. While studying the historical roots of animation, students will practice the intricate logistics of image sequencing and transform a series of drawings into a mesmerizing animated video.

Transportation Extravaganza is a new summer day camp hosted at ASU for rising 11th and 12th-grade students who are curious about the world of transportation—from walking and biking to trains, cars, airplanes, and everything in between. Over five action-packed days, students will explore ASU labs, participate in hands-on transportation-related challenges, and take field trips to local transportation hubs and infrastructure sites, such as airports, traffic management centers, or engineering facilities. The program blends interactive workshops, team-building activities, and real-world experiences to help students discover the wide range of careers that keep people and goods moving—while also giving them a taste of college life and engineering innovation.

Ready to see how engineering can change the world – and have some serious fun doing it?

Dive headfirst into the high-impact world of robotics alongside other driven high school students. This isn’t a lecture, it’s a build, test, compete experience. You’ll use your design skills to enhance an underwater robot and put it to the test at the National Underwater Robotics Competition, tackling a high-stakes mission unlike anything you’ve done before.

Your challenge: respond to a maritime disaster in the Pacific and deploy your underwater robot to recover scattered rubber duckies, remove hazardous materials, and document damage to fragile marine ecosystems in a simulated deep-sea environment. Along the way, you’ll gain real engineering skills – buoyancy, electrical systems, controls, and autonomy – all through hands-on problem solving.

You’ll also meet and learn from Desert WAVE, the #1-ranked underwater robotics team in the U.S., and see what it takes to compete at the highest level.

No experience required – just curiosity, creativity, and the drive to build something extraordinary.

Each year, ASU's Walter Cronktie School of Journalism and Mass Communication hosts a summer enrichment media camp, Camp Cronkite, so high school students can dive head-first into media. By day, Cronkite faculty, staff, and student guides lead campers in hands-on learning in our state-of-the-art building on ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus; then, campers enjoy scheduled evening programming and end the day retreating across the street to Gordon Commons, our residential hall, for supervised R&R. 

Students attend core sessions on writing, interviewing, visual storytelling and personal branding, and choose their own Camp Cronkite adventure by selecting elective sessions from topics such as producing, videography, podcasting, weather, social media and more.

This summer, we'll offer two session weeks and students can choose one in the application that works best for their availability:

The RISE Summer Leadership Institute is a residential program at Arizona State University for rising high school juniors and seniors ready to explore college, careers, and their leadership potential. Students live on campus and engage in hands-on, interactive learning focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship, and community impact. Through career-connected projects and real-world problem solving, students build practical skills. By the end of the program, participants gain clarity about college pathways, build confidence in their next steps, and a strong sense of belonging as future Sun Devils.

The RISE program provides an immersive residential experience that prepares students for success in college, career, and beyond, with a focus on:

• Understanding College & Careers: Students gain a better understanding of how college connects to different career paths. Through experiential learning opportunities and  conversations with professionals, participants start to see how their interests and goals can turn into real opportunities.

This program is for rising high school freshmen, current high school students, recent high school graduates.

Explore performance, songwriting, production, engineering, and music entrepreneurship at ASU's Popular Music Program summer camp for teens age 14-19 from June 14-19, 2026.

Led by ASU's world-class faculty and staff, students develop their musicianship and prepare for college-level music study. 

The camp takes place at Fusion on First in Downtown Phoenix, where participants get hands-on experience in state-of-the-art studios, rehearsal and performance spaces, writing rooms, and digital media labs.

For both Daytime and Overnight campers - have the ASU Popular Music experience by students writing, producing, recording, collaborating, and performing while learning from industry professionals and working artists. 

For Overnight campers only - have the overnight college experience by living in a dorm, going to programmed events and hanging with all the other students. Registration is now open!

Camp Level Up++ is a 3-week, multi-track summer program where students learn through game-based and hands-on experiences. Campers build games on the Endstar platform, explore introductory Unity and Unreal Engine skills, and get creative through fabrication and wood workshop activities.

The program runs in three weekly sessions, with optional extended hours for even more building and creativity. Every camper earns ASU microcredentials, and the experience wraps with a Final Showcase where families play student-created games.

Make a short, animated music video with stop-motion animation! Stop-motion animation is a highly detailed animation process that uses up to 24 photos per second to create seamless motion. Participants will work collaboratively as they choose the music, brainstorm concepts and design storyboards. They will animate, shoot and edit videos using various materials such as clay, construction paper, small objects and industry-grade technology available at the School of Art.

Bring characters to life by creating your own animation shorts! In the style of stop motion major feature films such as “Coraline” or “Kubo and the Two Strings”, students are tasked with taking pictures frame by frame and putting it together to form movement. Merging both artistic talents and hands on engineering, students will expressively tell their own stories which will culminate in a final showcase.

Add some flair to your backpack or t-shirts, print your own logos on a tote bag or create your own prints to hang up at home! In this screenprinting camp, you'll practice the printing and layering processes with transparencies and stencils as you incorporate techniques of drawing, tracing, detailed cutting, composition and found object exposure. Water-based inks in a variety of colors will be mixed for printing. Students will take home their creations, as well as their own School of Art tote bag.

Interested in art, nature, and science? Grab your watercolors and lab coat as we examine specimens at the Life Sciences Collections at ASU. Learn about and take a closer look at animals, botanicals, shells, insects and more under the microscope! As we explore, you’ll create watercolor paintings and drawings based on your visual research. Make it abstract, or paint exactly what you see! This is your time to be creative and investigate a magical, microscopic world you never knew existed.

Please note that Art Under the Microscope will be held at ASU’s Natural History Collections, located at 734 W. Alameda Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282; this is a short five-minute drive from ASU’s Tempe Campus.

Portrait painting has deep roots in history and still has a strong presence in the art world today. In this camp, you’ll learn how to work with oil paints, mix skin tones, tackle proportion and create the illusion of light and form. In addition, you’ll practice mastering 3-D volume, structure and anatomy — all leading up to painting from real life!

Work with wood as you create tools, toys and games! In this introductory woodworking camp, you will learn the fundamentals of carving and joinery within the School of Art’s dedicated Woods Studio. Each participant will learn to use the bandsaw and various hand tools to design and create sculptural objects.

Melt, bend and sculpt metal to become a master of metal in the 5-day-long welding camp! In this introductory welding camp, you will learn how to use welding machinery and tools to bend and melt metals for one-of-a-kind sculptures and wall hangings! This camp takes place in the state-of-the-art sculpture studio, where you will learn, explore and create with metal.

Hosted at Arizona State University campuses, Leadership Society of Arizona’s 2026 Logic, Leadership, and Life Skills summer program is a day camp where teens complete licensed professional development training. We’ve taken college-level curriculum and turned it into a fun and interactive 4-day course. Students will set new goals, learn proven leadership skills, and get individualized attention from our certified teen life coaches.
