Through strategic partnerships with districts, individual schools, and community groups, Access ASU provides a variety of options for bringing groups of students to campus.
Special Group Visits are for school and community groups who request programming for students in grades 7-10. We work with groups to provide strategic messaging, based on grade level and unique group needs.
Future Sun Devil Experiences are events planned with and coordinated for Access ASU's strategic partner schools. These events are invitation-only, and are targeted to first generation students with the intention of providing college exposure, building student self-confidence, providing adult role models, and providing key postsecondary information to students who will be the first in their family to achieve a college degree
AVID Leadership Conference - In the spring of 2011, Access ASU offered its first AVID Leadership Conference, which is intended to be an annual event. AVID students from 21 schools in Maricopa County attended a day of programming aimed at increasing resources and information about ASU and higher education. Our next AVID Leadership Conference is planned for Friday, February 3, 2012.
Capitalizing on each school and community's unique strengths, ASU tailors its support by leveraging the relevant assets of the university in these settings. Results to date are significant and best measured by rapidly increasing postsecondary enrollment from all targeted school districts.
Access ASU will continue to expand outreach through innovative efforts as relationships evolve and opportunities arise.
